At the time of adoption, all FRES ferrets have current distemper and
rabies vaccinations, have been neutered or spayed, descented and have a microchip.
Our adoption fees are minimal, but necessary, to aid FRES in
recovering a portion of the basic care and veterinary
costs incurred while the ferret is in foster care.
All adoption fees must be paid at the time of
adoption.
$150 under 1 year of age
$100 equal to or over 1 year of
age $50 for special needs* ferrets
Bonded Groups:
To minimize stress to the ferrets, FRES
does not separate bonded cage mates upon their arrival
to our Society or at the time of adoption.
In the case of bonded groups, the adoption fee
will be paid in full for one ferret and a 20% discount
will be applied to the cost of each additional ferret
in the group that is of an equal or lesser adoption
fee.
* Special needs ferrets are those that
have been diagnosed with a terminal condition, those
that are blind due to congenital abnormalities, aging,
or trauma, or those that have previously had a
surgical procedure (excluding spay/neuter, descenting,
chordoma, and/or gastrointestinal blockage removal surgeries)
performed by a qualified veterinarian.
In addition to gaining a loving new friend, all adopters receive:
Access to all veterinary records that FRES has
on file for your ferret.
A complimentary post-adoption veterinary
examination certificate redeemable at participating
veterinarians.
Encouragement to call FRES if they have any
questions about their new ferret(s).
